Northern Metropolitan

The upper house seat of Northern Metropolitan Region is 1,017 square kilometres in size and covers one fifth of metropolitan Melbourne.  The Northern Metropolitan Region spans from Melbourne’s CBD to Kinglake West in the north, Christmas Hills in the east and Broadmeadows in the west.  Some of its diverse features include the MCG, Parliament House, the Docklands, Flemington Racecourse, the Royal Agricultural Society Showgrounds, the Zoological Gardens and Kinglake National Park.  It takes in 11 lower house seats: Broadmeadows, Brunswick, Bundoora, Ivanhoe, Melbourne, Mill Park, Northcote, Preston, Richmond, Thomastown, and Yan Yean.
