I rise to highlight the ever-growing number of public aged-care beds lost under this coalition government.
Reg Geary House
My adjournment matter this evening is for the Minister for Ageing, and it relates to the proposed closure of Reg Geary House, a 30-bed high-care facility in Melton South in June 2014.
In the past few days I have had the honour of joining with many other members for a number of events commemorating Ohi Day. On 28 October 1940 the Greeks stood strong against the invading Italian fascist forces and in doing so entered the Second World War.
I rise to make a relatively brief contribution to the debate on the Courts Legislation Amendment (Judicial Officers) Bill 2013, and I indicate to the house that the opposition will not be opposing the bill.
Members will recall that on a number of occasions I have raised the issue of multidisciplinary assessments at Sunshine Hospital no longer being available to
preschool children from the start of March this year.
I rise to make a contribution to the debate on the Open Courts Bill 2013 and also to indicate that the opposition will not be opposing the bill.
Mentone Gardens aged-care facility
I rise to speak on the Taxi Services Commission 2012-13 annual report, or in fact the minister's report of receipt of this 2012-13 annual report. All that has been tabled is a one-page letter that runs for just six lines from the Minister for Public Transport and Minister for Roads, Terry Mulder, to the Clerk of the Parliament.
