COVID-19 🦷 update

The Victorian Chief Health Officer has endorsed advice that some non-urgent public dental care should be postponed across metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire.
This includes routine general dental procedures likely to generate aerosols such as the ultrasonic cleaning of teeth, dental fillings and some specialist care.
Victorians living in Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire can continue to access emergency and urgent dental care at the

The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne

, and many community-based dental services across the state.

In Regional Victoria, public dental services will continue to operate at current levels with screening procedures in place to protect staff and patients.
All public patients with existing dental appointments will be contacted to discuss their treatment plans and make new appointments when services re-commence.
Permanent teeth can last a lifetime with proper care. The risk of tooth decay, gum disease and tooth loss can be reduced with good oral health practices.
