Local achievements

Victoria’s emergency services have received a Brumby Labor Government boost with more than $6.8 million to go to 120 local volunteer emergency service groups across the state.

The Brumby Labor Government has doubled this year’s Community Safety Emergency Support Program (CSESP) grants to help the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES), Life Saving Victoria (LSV), Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association (AVCGA) and other emergency service groups secure extra equipment.

These grants allow local brigades, units, clubs and flotillas access additional funding for extra emergency equipment to help them carry out their important work.

The State Government is committed to ensuring Victoria’s emergency services are well resourced and under this year’s CSESP program:

·         Whittlesea CFA Brigade will receive a Quick Fill Pump; and

·         Northcote VICSES will receive a 4WD vehicle – red plate buy back.
